Job Title

Lead Software Development Engineer (SRE/ DevOps)

As a member of the Service Reliability Engineering Chapter you will expect to be a Full Stack Engineer who applies software engineering practices and tools to automate the lifecycle of service environment instances and the continuous delivery (CD) pipelines that effect changes to those environments.

You will drive a culture of agility and continuous improvement, leveraging the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) for product development and release management as part of integrated program teams.

Responsibilities

Develops and maintains CI/CD pipelines and release automation workflows

Contributes to enterprise shared components for CI/CD and release automation

Manages Environments

Acts as Configuration Item (CI) librarian for the service environments

Documents service and environment dependencies

Tracks, communicates, escalates and manages security vulnerabilities

Functions as the PaaS Org Manager and Space Manager for a Squad and/or Program Group

Manages environment related enterprise access roles and entitlements and ensure necessary/allowed access for all squad members

Makes enhancements to existing buildpacks and builds new buildpacks for the platform. Ÿ

Manages Releases and Changes

Oversees release operations owned by the Squad in the spirit of "you build it, you run it!"

Applies zero downtime release strategies such as canary and blue-green deployments

Manages change windows to extent necessary

Briefs Squad members on upcoming major change activity that may impact service environments owned by the Squad

Represents the Squad at change management meetings where overall environment changes or changes to owned services have a broader impact

Works with Squad members to ensure sufficient internal documentation on managing, operating and supporting CD pipelines and service environments is complete and kept up-to-date

Collaborates with Stakeholders (Full Stack Engineering, Service Reliability Engineering (SRE), Architects, Product Owners, Scrum Masters)

Contributes to Systems Environment Engineering Practices

Contributes best practices and insight to internal Systems Environment Engineering communities of practice
