Group Description

MasterCard Advisors (Advisors) is the professional services arm of MasterCard Worldwide, providing consulting, information products/solutions and execution across a broad spectrum of payments activities to MasterCard customers. The Advisors team drives value creation through the development and execution of targeted engagements for customers and for MasterCard. Our goal is to enhance the quality and strength of MasterCard customer relationships by providing strategic and tactical value added services, by supporting important MasterCard business initiatives, including deal pursuits and internal strategy development.

The Managing Consultant will be part of the Advisors€™ Global team which is responsible for aligning with and supporting MasterCard customer and business priorities globally. This person will be part of a team who is responsible to drive specific revenue contribution to MasterCard, by taking the Advisors services to scale.

Role Description

The Managing Consultant plays an integral role in the development of Advisors solution development, as well as providing sales support to the Advisors global Business Development teams. Additionally the consultant will play an instrumental role in taking the Advisors solutions and services to scale across the organization and clients globally. Key areas of responsibility include:

Consultative based content development and packaging, specifically the creation of Force Multiplier consultative packages tied to MasterCard€™s regional and strategic priorities, and client(s) based needs

Understand the firms strategic priorities and needs by region, and in turn create targeted consultative solutions based content and packages to support regional and client priorities

Support regional pipeline development and deal closings, play a key role in converting pursuits into signed deals

Responsible for supporting the regions to prepare for client meetings through creating well structured, high impact written communications

Development of case studies and training materials to support the Advisors consultants and the MasterCard sales teams to effectively sell consultative based engagements

Support the Client Business Leaders and the Sales Force to identify and develop new business opportunities

Working with the Advisors regional teams to develop high quality sales content, effective management of client based communications

Leverage Thought Leadership, Case Studies and Force Multiplier content to create and enhance our firms position and place in payments

Working with the regional teams on pipeline development and management

Working with the Advisors regional teams to shorten sales cycles through collaboration and content creation

Plays an integral role in the development of content in support of general problem solving and consulting content required to support the CBLs, peers, and junior staff members

Develops and codifies intellectual capital, either through content creation and project based work or standalone research and analytical efforts

Desired Skills

Candidates must be highly motivated experienced industry payments professionals with the following qualities:

Extensive payments industry experience in a consulting management position. Deep expertise in payments with key expertise and knowledge of cards as a function of the payments landscape.

Exception problem-solving ability, the person should excel at problem solving through logical reasoning, creative thinking, as well as be comfortable with financials and have the ability to unravel problems to identify logical solutions that result in value creation for the client and MasterCard.

Demonstrated leadership, the person should be someone who takes initiative and is able to create opportunities for others and work as a true team player across the MasterCard and client business.

Thought leadership, the person should actively demonstrate the ability to promote, discuss, lead and advocate a new way of doing things in the payments business.

Team player, the person should demonstrate and operate in a positive cooperative and coordinated approach with all members of the MasterCard team.
