The Director, Government Engagement role is responsible for leading business development in the Public Sector segment and associated organizations Financial Inclusion, Mobility and Government Sales.

The incumbent is expected to

• Identify key business opportunities in the public sector, strengthen strategic partnerships and drive sales of digital platforms and solutions with government clients.

• Pursue business development initiatives in alignment with Mastercard’s country strategies as well as regional and global priorities for the segment.

• Work with product specialists, solution architects and consultants, to lead and shape the conversations around how Mastercard’s product, service and ecosystem capabilities solve for the challenges that government clients face today.

• Be familiar of how data, digital and cashless payments can solve issues in the areas of financial inclusion, citizen services, public transit, economic development and government operational excellence.

We will leverage digital tools, business insights, last mile solutions and market organizing skills to support client success.

We will also co-create solutions with our government clients using our suite of products and services.

While we have a good idea what works, we also have a passion for learning, exploring new capabilities, and applying the best methodologies and insights to the government business. We do this by engaging, listening and leading.

We are looking for an energetic and enterprising individual who displays a high degree of initiative and agility, has superior communication skills, and believes in winning together through collaboration and partnership.

The candidate must be/have:

• Fluent in English and Thai

• Able to integrate knowledge across disciplines, including technology, operations, sales, product, marketing, compliance and risk.

• Self-driven, organized and pro-active with ability to multi-task

• Entrepreneurial and commercially focused with proven influencing skills

• Experience of working on government business, tender process, managing government relationships, and co-developing a solution with government

• Experience of mobilizing programs across multiple organizations (customer; partners; suppliers) and managing delivery to successful outcomes

• Able to strongly articulate the case for public administration to embark upon complex, technology-enabled transformation initiatives

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work successfully on cross-functional teams

• Critical thinker and solution-oriented

• Postgraduate, MBA is not necessary but will be viewed favorably
