Software Development Engineer II, Data & Services Technology Team
As a Software Development Engineer on the D&S Technology team, you’ll hold a valued role within a rapidly growing team inside one of the world's most successful organizations, working closely with experienced and driven senior engineers to solve problems as a team. Mastercard's D&S next generation platform blends industry-leading analytics, advanced software architecture, and the latest web technologies to face these problems, analyzing terabytes of data in the process. Our software is required to effectively decipher analytically complex insights from these problems, on which businesses base multi-million dollar business decisions.
As a member of the Business Operations Engineering team, you will bring your full-stack development skills to design, build, deploy, and scale key internal resources that drive value to our Delivery, Sales, Marketing, Engineering teams and beyond. We work with cutting-edge technologies, with our engineers determining the best one for each project. We are looking for an innovative software engineer who can contribute to designing and building large features, and thrive in a fast-paced, agile team.
Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to a feature's design, implementation, testing, and release. The range of work you encounter varies from automating manual tasks to building out varied user flows leveraging the latest industry standards/technologies and beyond. As a member of the Business Operations Engineering team, you will build tools that drive value across the organization.
As a Software Development Engineer II, you will:
Grow your technical skills through design, development, and release of a wide range of far-reaching features
Lead and push the boundaries of analytics and powerful, scalable applications
Drive improvements to our code base by writing well-designed, well-tested code
Partner with Program Managers to develop a deep understanding of users and use cases and apply that knowledge to scoping and building new features
Collaborate with teams and exceptional peers who are passionate about what they do
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Full stack engineering experience in an agile production environment
Proficiency with database design, API development, CI/CD, infrastructure as code
Experience with modern front-end frameworks, and command line scripting
Deep understanding of one or more web stacks (our tech stack is mostly .NET, Typescript/React, and SQL)
Strong technologist eager to learn new technologies and frameworks
Passion for problem solving
Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on small project teams
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Experience collaborating with diverse, cross-functional teams
Eager to experiment with new team processes and innovate on development approach
