Software Development Engineer II, Technology - Data & Services
As a Software Development Engineer II on the Data & Services Technology team, you’ll hold a valued role within a rapidly growing and successful firm, working closely with experienced and driven senior engineers to solve problems as a team. Innovative product opportunities, modern business questions, and intricate datasets present uniquely challenging problems that we are eager to take on. Mastercard's D&S next generation platform blends industry-leading analytics, advanced software architecture, and the latest web technologies to face these problems. Our software is required to effectively decipher analytically complex insights from these problems, on which businesses base multi-million dollar business decisions.
As a member of the Commercial Payments Intelligence Center (CPIC) team, you will bring your full-stack development skills to design, build, deploy, and scale a transformational new platform for issuers, leveraging large data sets and providing actionable insights. We are looking for an innovative software engineer who can drive the design and build of key full-stack features and thrive in a fast-paced, agile team. This individual will partner closely with the New Product Development organization to build a solution that drives value for our customers.
Engineers work in small, flexible teams. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. The range of work you encounter varies from building intuitive, responsive UIs to designing backend data models and beyond. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work the best for that team members and projects.

Build features used by some of the world's largest organizations to make multi-million dollar decisions
Lead and push the boundaries of analytics and powerful, scalable applications
Collaborate across teams with exceptional peers who are passionate about what they do
Work with Product Managers and Customer Experience Designers to develop a deep understanding of users and use cases and apply that knowledge to scoping and building new features
Create intuitive, responsive UIs that allow issuers to better understand and manage their commercial business
Build and maintain analytics and data models to enable performant and scalable products for the commercial payments space
Drive improvements to our code base by writing performant, well-tested code
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
Full stack engineering experience in an agile production environment
Proficiency with .NET/C#, React, Redux, Typescript, and SQL Server or other object-oriented languages, front-end frameworks, and/or relational database technologies
Strong technologist eager to learn new technologies and frameworks
Passion for analytical / quantitative problem solving
Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on small project teams
Superior academic record with a degree in Computer Science or related technical field
Strong written and verbal English communication skills
Experience collaborating skills with diverse, cross-functional teams
Eager to experiment with new team processes and innovate on development approach
