About The Team

The Financial Platform Partnerships team is part of Mastercard's Open Banking division, Finicity. Our team is a highly strategic business development group focused on establishing channel partnerships with companies who can scale the distribution of our open banking API's in a one-to-many model. Open Banking is a fast growing area of Mastercard's business and this team is a key driver of that growth and a very exciting place to work!

About You

We need a highly energetic business development executive who is willing to jump into an ever-evolving team and hit the ground running. While our primary roles are well defined (i.e. driving deals), we are all jumping in to help scale this business which means taking on non-sales responsibilities such as working with Product to figure out new capabilities or integration models that our partners need, with Legal to make sure we are structing our agreements correctly based on our various G2M opportunities, with Finance to ensure we evolve our deal models to meet our goals and those of our partners, etc.

About the Role

Your primary responsibility will be to drive partnerships deals from qualification to closure and for certain highly strategic partners, provide on-going relationship management. Most of our leads come from warm introductions from across Mastercard's broad set of industry relationships, which means you will partner closely with teammates (Account Managers, Product Architects, Marketing, etc.) across Mastercard to correctly position Finicity. You will own all aspects of the deal process with a strong support network around you to ensure the highest likelihood for success (i.e. Sales Engineers for integration scoping, Finance and Legal for pricing and contracting, etc.).

Qualifications & Soft Skills

  • Strong experience and recent success in sales/business development within the payments/banking/fintech market

  • Experience and/or familiarity selling API-based technologies

  • Familiarity with open banking technologies and the associated use cases / value proposition

  • Comfortability presenting to C-Suite executives

  • An ability to navigate highly matrixed organizations both internally and externally

  • Ability to identify and sell to multiple stakeholders and buying centers at the partner organization

  • Team-first mentality

  • Curiosity mindset

  • Ability to travel ad-hoc as needed (based on current company policies and procedures relating to company travel)

Hard Skills

  • Experience with Salesforce

  • Experience with Excel, particularly building revenue models and associated business cases to demonstrate deal rationale

  • Strong presentation skills both in-person and over virtual channels

Location

This role can be based out of our Purchase, NY office, or an approved, remote within the US.
