Director, Network Operations €“ Customer Engineering


The Director, Network Operations provides leadership to technology teams supporting Mastercard€™s networks and network infrastructure for both internal and external customers. They may also represent Mastercard to the local, city or county governments as well as other business partners or organizations.


Have you built and led a team of project management, data center engineering, platform engineering and network engineering at varying levels through matrix and direct reporting to provide implementation and support services?

Have you provided senior leadership, direction, and supervision to staff performing design, architecture, implementation, security and support of large multi-site, multi-vendor MPLS network communication environments?


Responsible for provision of 24 by 7 by 365 network availability across customer data center, Mastercard office, and Mastercard data center environments

Ensure approved staffing levels are maintained, departmental and staff education, training and cross training needs are met

Ensure that staff possess skills and behaviors to perform tasks fully through effective communication of goals, objectives, performance and, as necessary, improvement plans

Review, approve and ensure the implementation of new or revised operational processes and procedures and provide strategic direction for the organization

Ensure technical disaster recovery processes and procedures are in place and viable

Manage appropriate resources and budget to deliver timely, effective, efficient and predictable processing services and continuing improvement of performance while managing annual cost center budgets and appropriate expenditures within the approved budgets

Respond to operational and business concerns or issues relative to future business programs, projects, or enhancements to ensure consistent delivery of quality services

Provide leadership visibility and communications on Operations behalf with APAC regional management and other management teams as needed.

Establish relationships with O&T and GP&S leadership and their teams who have products, platforms, and infrastructure in Singapore

Translate business requirements into global solutions and design standards that utilize emerging technologies to provide optimum cost/performance ratios

Manage the integration, maintenance and enforcement of global and regional standards, and performance criteria that meet or exceed industry standards

Lead strategic planning, financial planning and serve as an advisor in Region on emerging technologies that could impact new developments and enhancements to on-going or planned projects or architecture

All About You

Demonstrated professional knowledge of complex engineering concepts and principles coupled with specialized knowledge in multiple disciplines

Broad industry knowledge in the areas of advanced project management methodologies, public and private networks, bank card industry, systems integration methodology's, industry vendors, industry trends, communication systems and application software

Extensive knowledge and experience with multiple functions within Mastercard

Ability to apply specialized technical knowledge in carrying out multiple activities, projects, and non-standard assignments involving complicated techniques and approaches within this discipline

Demonstrated effectiveness working in a global environment

Superb influencing skills and the ability to navigate through the complexities of a large organization

Proven leadership and collaboration abilities and ability to operate effectively globally

Experience managing and building a high performing team and an ability to inspire others

Strong balance of strategic, analytical and business skills, with a high level of intellectual agility and ability to influence direction

Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills necessary for interaction with business leaders and teams across all levels of the organization
