Job Role: Business Leader, MPGS (Solutions Engineer)

Reporting to: Vice President, Head of Commerce Gateway Services Australasia

Sydney, NSW, Australia.

Job Overview:

This role is a key member of the MPGS team and responsible for achieving the revenue target for Australasia.

The MPGS BL has an extensive understanding of MasterCard€™s payment gateway product and other competing products in the market. The role provides product and technical expertise to white label partner and merchants, during the pre-sales process and ongoing support.

The MPGS BL is responsible for working with the Expert Sales team in managing customer relationships, articulating customer needs and proactively working with the MPGS product development team to deliver new features/ functionality.

Major Accountabilities:

Subject matter expertise in the MPGS platform, functionality and processes to onboard and manage customers in the market.

Major Responsibilities include:

Providing product expertise for sales, delivery and support teams.

Initial business and technical review of customer requests for development.

Provision of business knowledge and technical support for systems design and development.

Communication with key stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliverables.

Development of formal Business Case for approved projects.

Participate in the definition and development of project requirements and analyze to provide a recommended solution.

Development of Scope of Works document to gain agreement between customer, internal business and developer stakeholders.

Coordinate and participate in review, revisions, changes, enhancements, testing, documentation, and notification of product enhancements.

Successful delivery of projects which may include: development and management of overall project plan, schedule adherence, status reporting, escalations, testing, user approval, final corrections, and appropriate documentation.

Collaborate with MasterCard support teams to troubleshoot and resolve customer issues in a timely manner

Monitor and analyse operational events and incidents. Recommend performance improvements to enhance service delivery to customers.

Keep abreast of the competitive landscape and identify opportunities to continually improve the product features based on local market needs

Awareness of MPGS Australasia€™s annual revenue targets, key customers and revenue drivers

Key development projects may include (but not limited to) articulating functional requirements for:

New Scheme Compliance mandates

Local and Regional Government mandates

Customer requirements

Ongoing product enhancements

Key & Core Competencies include:

In depth knowledge and experience with all aspects of commerce gateway services and the payment industry including:

eCommerce systems and processes

Payment transaction authorization, authentication, settlement processes

Consulting Skills: Analytics & Insights, project mgmt. and delivery, customer relationship mgmt

Skills/ Abilities:

Requires the skills to provide functional and technical guidance to expert sales and recommend solutions or product features to meet client needs.

Ability to articulate business needs to technical resources in MasterCard.

Requires the ability to interact across multiple organizational levels and assume a lead role and set direction for large or complex projects.\"

Experience and Skills Needed:

3+ years in commerce gateway, management consulting and/or relevant industry

Ability to think clearly and utilize sound judgment.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Advanced Word, Excel Project and PowerPoint skills

Attention to detail

Ability to work with international project team and stakeholders, both internal and external

Flexibility to travel/ co-locate at customer site


Bachelor's degree in related functional area or equivalent work experience.
