Leader, Expert Sales


The Market Development and Innovation team builds the sales pipeline, and achieves the sales target for MasterCard Solutions and emerging technologies.

The team works closely with product teams, acceptance team, account leads and Expert Sales on the ground to lead the China sales initiative for the designated products

Within the team the, Platform Services Expert Sales €“ China, is responsible for sales of the MasterCard Payment Gateway Services (MPGS)

The role holder will lead the sales effort focusing on these areas with our partners and customers to ensure strong support of the division€™s business

Have you lead payment gateway product sales?

Have you engaged in successful payment gateway services related projects?

Have you lead a project life cycle from pre-sales to the delivery?


Manage and develop sales pipeline leveraging the platform resources in the region. This includes initiating and conducting direct sales calls, communicating and coordinating with the platform product development teams in GP&S, coordination with AP€™s division account teams and establishing networks in the industry.

Achieve sales and revenue objectives set by management. Manage sales budget, forecast, and performance tracking for the division.

Develop financial modeling and business cases for identified opportunities, as well as coordinate contract development ensuring execution and deal completion.

Pro-actively identify and prioritize initiatives that drive customer and MasterCard revenues. Develop, coordinate, and deliver sales presentations to identified opportunities in collaboration with divisional expert sales and account teams.

Communicate and coordinate with the product development organization to highlight product innovation opportunities emerging from discussions with customers and potential customers.

Participate and contribute in the sales planning process with Division expert sales teams.

All About You

A combination of an I.T education and a business degree from reputed institutions (A first degree in Business Management with an accredited tertiary institution)

Proven track record in direct sales in Financial Products. Strong working knowledge of the sales support function will be an asset

Solid understanding of payment business and eco systems

Payment processing and gateway background is a must and digital convergence background is desired but not required

Strong project management and communication skills a must

Strong market development/customer engagement skills

Understanding of competitive offerings and industry trends

Deep knowledge of MasterCard products and the MasterCard platform value proposition.

Entrepreneurial with keen sense of ability to identify, create and develop opportunities that increase MasterCard€™s revenue and profitability, while maintaining strong customer focus

Refined negotiation skills and highly skilled in influencing outcomes through positive and engaging communication

Possess a disciplined approach towards sales pipeline development, management, tracking and reporting.

Confident with public presentations and internal & external customer engagement meetings through presentations, discussions and development of proposal documentation.

Strong multi-tasking skills and thrive in a fast paced, matrix work environment.
