Production Support Engineer


This position will be part of a global team which provides operational and product support to a wide range of leading technologies within MasterCard.

Working with Infrastructure and development teams to handle a wide range of queries, determine next actions and follow through issues to resolution.

Providing level 2 and 3 support for our applications in a 24x7 Environment.

As member of the production support, help triage with issues seen within the production environment for our applications within Digital payments.

Replicating issues to trace the root cause and help drive issues to resolution.

Research code to determine cause of certain behaviors that have occurred.

Actively look for opportunities to enhance standards and improve process efficiency.

Evaluate business requests to determine feasibility, work with Software Engineers to define alternatives and recommend optimal solutions.

Part of rotational on call personnel for support.

Maintain knowledge base of problems reported and solutions provided.

Organizational, planning and multi-tasking skills.

Analytical/problem solving and planning skills and the ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize work based on current business needs.

Knowledge of the following: UNIX, scripting, C++, Oracle, SQL skills, Java

Experience in working with application servers (JBoss, WebLogic, and WebSphere).

Understanding of basic computational networking concepts (TCP, Firewall, VPN)

Can work within an ITIL aligned support framework.
